Step 9: Prepare the Lemon Syrup

While the cake bakes, combine:

• Lemon juice
• Sugar

Heat gently in a saucepan until sugar dissolves completely.

Do not boil excessively.

The syrup should remain clear and smooth.

Step 10: Soak the Cake

When the cake comes out of the oven:

Leave it in the pan for 10 minutes.

Using a skewer, poke small holes across the surface.
