Step 9: Churn the Ice Cream

Once the custard is fully chilled, remove it from the refrigerator.

If using vanilla extract instead of a vanilla bean, stir it in now.

Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker.

The texture should resemble soft-serve ice cream.
